The fine print
Effective 20 August 2026. This policy explains what RealEstateAgentFinder.ca collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors and to real estate professionals who claim their profile.
Public professional data. Our agent profiles and rankings are built from publicly available real estate listing data: agent and brokerage names, office addresses, active listings, and public Google review summaries. This is professional, not private, information, and it appears on the site whether or not a profile is claimed.
Account data (claimed profiles). When you claim your profile we collect your email address (used to verify the claim and sign you in) and whatever you choose to add: biography, tagline, links, service areas, and an uploaded headshot. Your email is never shown publicly.
Usage data. Like most sites we use analytics (Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic. We don't build visitor profiles or sell data.
Accounts run on transactional email — one-time sign-in codes, claim decisions, and account notices. These are required for the service to function and you accept them when you claim a profile.
Optional emails — updates about your ranking and our newsletter — are sent only with your express consent, given unchecked-by- default at claim time or later from your profile page. We record when consent was given. Every optional email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choices on your profile page at any time. We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
We use reputable processors to run the service: Heroku (hosting and database), Cloudinary (image storage, including uploaded headshots), and Postmark (email delivery). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
Account data is kept while your claim is active. If you abandon your claim or ask us to remove it, we delete your account data (public professional data derived from listings remains, as it exists independently of any account). You can ask us anytime to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you: hello@realestateagentfinder.ca.
We don't sell personal information. We don't share it with third parties except the processors above or where the law requires. We don't accept payment to alter rankings.
Agent websites and other external links are outside our control and carry their own privacy practices. If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and its effective date.
